Textiles

As part of Design Technology, we focused on Textiles. We linked our unit of work with Easter and the Stations of the Cross.
We were able to develop many of our DT skills whilst carrying out our task:
- Selecting appropriate materials, tools and techniques
- Measuring and marking out accurately
- Understanding pattern layout
- Cutting and joining with accuracy to ensure a good-quality finish to the product
- Pinning and tacking fabric pieces together
- Joining fabrics using the back stitch
